How Self-Analysis is Important for Success and How to do it

The Most Important Investment is in YOURself.
This doesn't mean to amass huge amount of wealth or mansions or titles or even cars. Please, Read between the lines. It effectively means to invest in your knowledge, your intellect, those resources which can be afterwards used in an optimum way for the greater good.

That does mean you get to amass wealth or other byproducts but what you become in the process is something that'll make the world gape in wonder.

Investing in yourself starts with personal development. Development of personal thinking, personal skills - physical or mental. That's why education is given so much of importance in these days which inculcate the basics of development in one's mind.

Before you start with personal development, you must be able to know what skills you need to attain, what skills you need to improve, what negatives in your character you need to get rid of. This is basically self-analysis or self-assessment.

What is Self-Analysis?

Self-Analysis is Being Aware of Yourself Consciously. Now, Let's break it down.

Being Aware of what you do, what you think, what situations trigger what emotions in your mind. Being Aware of your capabilities, your surroundings, your strength, your weaknesses.
Being Aware of who You Really Are.

All this has to be a Conscious effort on your part. You must put in effort to daily observe yourself and your actions and reactions to situations. Being Aware Consciously is very important for being Successful in whatever you want to do.

Why Self-Analysis?

Spiritually speaking, Self-Analysis is the first step towards a whole science of being enlightened. Almost every enlightened being who has ever stepped foot on this earth speaks of one thing that the whole universe resides in us, you just have to be still to be able to observe it.

Unconsciously, we act in so many ways in our daily lives that sometimes we are just responding to the situations around us. That is not the sign of someone who is a conscious being. Conscious Self-Analysis gives way to understanding oneself and how one acts in certain situations. Only then one can know what traits of one's character are beneficial and what are not so important. Keeping the traits and removing the traits takes another practice and patience. But, that's for some other day ;)

How Self-Analysis?

Now that you have understood the importance of Self-Analysis, let's see how you can start the process of Being Aware Consciously. Before we start, let me remind you, it is all a process and it takes time and effort. You need to have patience to practice it regularly. Then only substantial results show.

1. SWOT Analysis.

Strength
Weakness
Opportunity
Threats

A basic analytic tool for any business, it can be used to create an analytic chart to get to know yourself. For those of you who are not familiar with what it is, google it NOW.

It is a great way to analyse and weigh your Strength and Weaknesses. Know what skills you are good at. Find opportunities revolving around these strengths and remove those threats which revolve around your weaknesses. How do you remove the threats, you ask? Simple! by improving your weaknesses so they can become strengths, learning those skills which you think you should have but don't have.

Also, always train your mind to see every situation as an Opportunity. Bad situations are just opportunities to learn more. After all the Entrepreneur is one Opportunistic....

Sometimes you win, Sometimes you Learn.
But all these strengths and weaknesses are dependent on what your goal or dream is. What do you want to achieve? What is your why? What is your purpose?

So, to know about what is your purpose or what is your why, you have to go deeper into our conscious. That's where the mighty Meditation Comes. Yeah!!!!

2. Meditation.

According to Wikipedia:
The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qikiprana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.
Meditation is the advanced version of SWOT Analysis, except it is executed not on paper, but in life.
It is a very simple practice which if done regularly gives some exquisite results which will baffle you out of your mind.

Youtube a lot of meditation videos and try some. Whatever feels comfortable to you, practice that. It will surely give benefit to you. It will transform you into a being of unlimited possibilities.

  1. Find out what are Strengths and Weaknesses that we need to focus on. Read on how to maintain a balance between them. Once you stop focusing on your weaknesses and start searching your central strengths, your next move will be focused on how to increase your potential.

  2. There are several studies that affirm this theory. One of them, carried out by the American Lung Society, showed that meditation is even more effective than smoking cessation programs and, in addition, the duration of its effect is even greater than that of traditional treatments. This may be because meditation helps to unlink the desire for the act of smoking.
